WELCOME TO THE UNITARIAN CONGREGATION OF GUELPH

Ours is a diverse faith. Each of us journeys the spiritual path alone until we join with like-minded individuals. Unitarians have been meeting in Guelph since 1960. We come together to be affirmed and renewed in spirit. We are enriched by the presence of newcomers, and invite you to join us for Sunday Services and other events.

We are a lay-led congregation: every service is unique with a wide range of themes from week to week. Speakers are drawn from the membership of our congregation as well as the larger community. We meet from September to end of June.

Cultivating a Multi-Generational Community of Attachment

Wednesday, March 31, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

We put a high premium on social responsibility in our children but often lack an understanding of how best to develop values. Raising caring and considerate individuals who realize their full potential requires special conditions.  It takes a whole community. Based on the developmental and relational work of Dr. Gordon Neufeld, presented by Susan Dafoe-Abbey, Parent Consultant and Family Therapist.

Susan will address how cultivating the 6 roots of attachment sets the stage for caring, multi-generational communities. She will also describe how adults can harness the power of attachment to make their lives with children easier and more effective.  This, in turn, creates a healthier society for people of all ages. Parents, grandparents, step-parents, foster parents, caregivers, teachers, community leaders and all those interested in this timely topic are invited.
